Question for mothers who use cloth diapers/nappies?

I am having my third, the old wraps have seen better days and I cannot justify buying new wraps so I have decided to make some. I am making them double layered as I have some fleece and some waterproof fabric. I can’t decide which fabric should go on the inside, next to the nappy and which one would be better on the outside. Both make sense for different reasons. Which one would you suggest?

I would sew the fleece on the inside but do it like a pocket style diaper (like fuzzi bunz) because they keep baby dryer.

Or else I would skip the fleece and just do the waterproof fabric as a simple cover. I have found my favorite and best covers to be the no frills, no extras, simple one layer covers. Unless you really love the fleece print and just want it on the outside to look cute.
