Velboa Blanket

Should Velboa and batting be pre-washed?
Should Velboa be pre-washed before using it to make a blanket? What about batting? I have read articles that say you should and some that say you should not, so I am not sure which is the best for me. I am making a large fleece and mink velboa blanket, about the size of a comforter you would find on a queen-king size bed.
I would say sew it up first then wash it. Batting shouldn’t need pre-washing.
If you have more then enough Velboa, you can always cut a 2×2 square and wash it with a load and see how much it shrinks and if its A LOT then you might want to pre wash so it doesn’t bunch up the blanket the first wash.
