Strengths:
- The 721-06 has a few features not seen on any other Triumph cutters. First, air jets on both the front and rear tables help to quickly move materials between jobs. And finally, it has push button control for fast back gauge movement, both forward and reverse.
- This device has the standard MBM Safety Cutting System. This is a package of a variety of features all designed to keep your operation injury-free. - The LED screen allows up to 99 programs to be stored in memory for instant access. Each job can have up to nine repeat cuts. The control module also has an eject function and a delete and insert option for changing programmed steps.
- The hydraulically controlled clamp adjusts the pressure from 550 to 4400, the widest range of any Triumph cutter. This allows the smooth processing of specialty stocks. The false clamp provides cushioning to the materials and is important during the handling of paper that is extremely sensitive to pressure and markings.
- The strong blade is made from solid Solingen steel. Accompanied by a solid steel blade carrier and adjustable blade guides, this all metal construction makes for a heavy duty machine. The durability is backed by a one year warranty.
- Since the blade can handle up to a three inch stack of paper as wide as 28 inches, an entire ream of oversized paper can go through at one time with room to spare. Cut can be as narrow as ¾ inch, though only 3.5 inches if the false clamp is in place. The wide workspace provides 28-3/8″ of surface behind the blade with almost 21′ in front.
Weaknesses:
- With so many impressive features, it’s hard to imagine a downside. But this machine is extremely heavy, weighing about 1686 pounds, and will be difficult to move around. Also, it has very large dimensions. Before you invest, make sure you have the space needed; it won’t work well in a smaller office.
