What is the best color for my walls?
I have a small room that’s baby blue on the walls and white on the ceiling. It feels too lite to me and not very welcoming. What are some nice color combinations so I’ll feel more at home. Also I’m wanting to take up the linoleum tiles and replace it with carpet. If possible I’d like to keep the ceiling white. What colors would look good with that? The only furniture I have in the room is a bed with blue sheets, skirt, and comforter along with a computer desk and dresser that are wood toned and a small tv cart that’s black. Thanks.
Hmmmmm.. My suggestion would to decide first what theme I wanted the room to feel like…. Beachy? Pastels? Girly? Autonomous? Then I’d look at some magazines and check out photos of color combinations and rooms that appeal to me.
Next, I’d pick out a base color to “wash” the room in (sorry, but I’d paint the ceiling the same color as the walls – it’s very “in” right now and I personally love the effect) and consider pieces and accents in two other colors. I’d finish it off with a few subtle patterns, darker contrast colors in linens, curtains and pillows…
