In The Dark Knight Is Jim Gordon in a Unhappy Marriage or just a Workaholic?
Just wondered because when you first see him a police officer says something like are you ever intending to see your wife again? and he brushes it off, but when you think Jim has ***** and it turns out he hasn’t and she see him she slaps him and then hugs him.Then towards the end he has to go and save his family and he is begging for their safety and is sobbing etc. The reason i ask is because my friend thinks the gordons marriage is unhappy and my arguement is that he is a workaholic but loves his wife and children. Can anyone solve our silly arguement lol
I certainly wouldn’t say that he’s in an unhappy marriage.
As for the workaholic charge…perhaps, but I wouldn’t even go that far.
Gordon takes his job seriously, yes, but it’s an incredibly serious job, and a heavy burden.
He is responsible for keeping the city of Gotham as clean and safe as possible.
His work directly influences the safety of his family — what man wouldn’t give that his all?
