Good ideas for a nursery bulletin board?
I am designing a bulletin board for my church’s nursery and I am looking for some neat ideas.It’s for ages 0-3 years old. There is a crib with padding with jungle animals on it if that helps any, but all ideas are welcome!!! Thanks!
Depending on the nursery, you may need to use a portion of the bulletin board for notices, sign up sheets, attendance sheet, etc. Or perhaps there is a shelf to set these things on and you don’t have to use the bulletin board. Clip boards are wonderful for sign in sheets, etc.

Noah’s Ark is always popular, and isn’t seasonal, so you can leave it up for awhile.
You could also use something from the VBS theme. Sometimes VBS supply kits have extra posters or other things you could put on a bulletin board. Check with the VBS director.
Summer Ideas:
Title on Board “We’re Growing”. Use Blue or Yellow background paper with tan or green on the bottom third to represent the ground. Use Green Letters. Make flowers from paper plates. The children can color or paint the plates, then you cut them into a flower shape. Or use paint their hands and have each handprint be a petal of the flower. Then cut stems and leaves from green construction paper. If you want to, the leaves could be feet prints. Paint bottom of child’s foot green, then have them step onto the paper. Cut it out for a “leaf” shape.
Honey Bee Theme. Use a blue background, and have flowers made from construction paper along the bottom for color and interest. Have bumble bees flying through the sky, and by each one list a different bible verse. For example, “Bee Kind” and then list a bible verse about being kind. “Bee Strong” and list a bible verse about being strong. There are lots of bee items in teacher supply catalogs, stores, and websites, so check those listed above if you don’t want to make your own.
Anytime Idea:
Title for the Board: “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. Have a large “world” shape in the middle of the board. Around the board you can put children from different lands. You can cut a basic person shape from various colors of cream, brown, tan construction paper- or use multi-cultural construction paper. Then cut some shirts and pants to fit the people. For the clothing, you can use wallpaper, construction paper, scrapbook paper. Have everything pre cut and let the students glue on the clothes. You can use yarn for hair, but at this age it gets pretty messy, and usually is a disaster.
Title for the Board: “Great Christian Books for Toddlers”. Make or purchase (teacher websites) cut outs in the shape of books. On each book, write the title of a Christian book that the parents could read to their child, such as “Adam, Adam, What do You See?”, “On Noah’s Ark” by Jan Brett, or “Good Night, God Bless” by Hideko Takahashi. Staple the cut outs onto the bulletin board. Then, make a list of all the books on a half sheet of paper, and xerox several copies. Put the lists in a pocket on the bulletin board so each parent can grab one and take it to the library with them. To make a pocket to hold the lists, staple a half sheet of construction paper horizontally onto the bulletin board. Staple the sides and bottom to the board, leaving the top open. The book list will fit into the pocket if you slide the papers in vertically, so they stand up and hang out of the pocket.
