How to Chose the Cloth Diaper System that is Right For You

With the current state of the economy as well as the environment, many people are making changes to curb cost and help with pollution. New parents are no exception. There are many products that can help give you piece of mind when it comes to these new issues. One of these products is the cloth diaper.

There are many different types of cloth diapering systems, all with their own benefits, but there is one diapering system that wins hands down when it comes to ease of use, cost effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. The two-part pre-fold is the most well-rounded cloth diaper system.  However, here is a list of each of the cloth diapering systems and each of their benefits and downfalls.

The pocket cloth diaper is designed for ease of use. The cloth is stuffed inside of the diaper beforehand and can be put onto the child in a matter of seconds. The downside to this diaper is that the entire diaper becomes dirty with one soiling. This means that you cannot just remove the diaper from the pocket because the pocket also becomes wet. You will need a lot of this type of diaper to keep up with your child’s wetting cycle.

The all in one cloth diaper is 2 things a diaper and a wrap in one. This type is much like the pocket design except that the diaper has no pocket but comes pre stuffed. Like the pocket design they are easy to use and go on very quick. This also has the same down falls as the pocket style diaper in that you will need to fully wash each diaper after each soiling. This means you will need a lot of diapers and a lot of time to wash them.

The one-size fits all cloth diaper is designed to be the last diaper you will ever need. They are usually in the style of the all in one or the pocket cloth diaper but have a great deal of adjustment to fit your child from newborn to toddler. The major downfall of this product is that there is simply no way that a diaper can be one size fits all. Not just purely in size but the amount of liquid a newborn produces is far less than that of a toddler.

The last and aforementioned form of cloth diapers is clearly far superior, the two part pre-fold system made popular by Real Nappies. With this system the cloth diaper is separate from the cover. This way the inside cloth is the only thing that’s affected by the wetting of the diaper. All you have to do is remove the cloth and put in a new one. This means you will need less supplies and less time in the washroom.
