Being the place where we sleep our beds are incredibly important parts of our homes, hotels and anywhere we sleep. You can easily recognise a bad bed by how easy it is to get some sleep, hard mattresses can have us rolling around all night trying to get comfortable where as some softer beds can reduce airflow around our bodies and leave us feeling a little hot.
Choosing a bed also depends on the space we have available and our choice of style as some beds require more space than others, smaller bedrooms may not be able to fit a double bed comfortably and so single beds may be the only option. In some cases though there are beds that seem to be smaller than regular double beds or could be more narrow or wider than what you would normally consider a standard length or width of bed.
These beds can help fit double sized mattresses which could fit in to rooms that are just on the border of being too small. These beds tend to be longer and narrower or shorter and wider which can be based on whatever the buyer’s requirements are. Some taller people may need longer beds to stop their feet hanging out of the end of their bed, whereas some people who move about a lot in their sleep may want a wider bed to stop them rolling out of it in the middle of the night!
There are many bed makers and retailers who sell these bed frames and can have varying dimensions for double beds or single beds. There is one downside to this range of beds though, the irregular bed frame size may make mattress buying a difficult task. The choice for using an irregular bed frame may mean most regular mattresses are too small or large for your bed frame and can leave gaps or over hangs.
If your mattress isn’t seated properly it can make lying on it akin to being on top of a plate of jelly and hard to sleep on. Buying the right mattress for your bespoke frame could mean you have a limited range or have to pay for the privilege of having a custom sized mattress. When choosing a bed make sure you choose the right one for your needs and consider how easily it will be to replace your mattress, especially if you end up choosing an irregular sized bed.
