2 ideas from girls your age

The birthday invitation was a tri-fold brochure. Center panel was the spa information” at our home with a reservation phone number to rsvp. The left side of the brochure included treatments available: facials and hair conditioning and style as well as the decorate your own flip-flop and finger and toe nail station. The right side of the brochure included the “make-and-take” section of the spa which included make your own: body scrub facials and bath salts. We included on the back of the invitation a list of natural ingredients (ground oatmeal brown sugar honey yogurt avocado sea salt grapeseed oil baking soda fragrance and food coloring) with which we would make our spa potions. Girls were told to wear their bathing suits and bring a beach towel. Four stations were set up throughout the back yard with pink table cloths small white lights surrounded the deck with pastel balloons. When the 12 girls arrived they received their spa schedule (4 groups of 3 girls at any one station)and a handled paper bag for their spa items as they progressed to each station… the stations were “manned” by four neighborhood girls going into sixth grade. I. The facial station had a monogramed face towel tied with a ribbon[made with iron on letters and a package of cheapie facetowels from Target] and a plastic baggie for the wet towel which they got to take home along with a travel size container for a home facial. Cucumber slices for the eyes and the deck chairs for 10 minutes. The ipod was closeby playing favorite songs. The only sit back and relax time we had… II. The body scrub station had a large bowl of ground oatmeal brown sugar honey cinnamon and grapeseed oil to mix together in small bowls for a body scrub to be used at home. Stored in a second travel container. A label was provided for the top of the container with the ingredients and an index card for use instructions. III. At the hair station the girls mixed together yogurt and honey to put in their hair covered with a shower cap and went on to have their finger nails done. They decorated flip flops with gems and letters and had their toes painted. Hair was rinsed with gallon jugs filled (and re-filled between groups) with water. (We thought the hose would be too cold!) IV. The bath salt station contained two large bowls: one with sea salt the other with baking soda… equal amounts in a small mixing bowl added the fragrance (available at Michaels) and food coloring and put in ziploc baggies with preprinted shipping labels with the ingredient list and the girls’ names. The baby pool was filled the pink bath salt and water for the optional sea salt outdoor spa experience. Ice cream cake and smoothies were served – fresh fruit trays to snack on. The girls had a great time and felt like they were properly pampered.”

INVITATIONS: for my invitations i made sleep masks out of white and blue felt.I began by making two templates ( one of them was a 1/4 in. bigger than the other.)Then i traced the bigger template on to the blue felt and the smaller template on to the white felt.Next i cut out the masks( i used scalloping scissors for the larger one). After that i squeezed a line of glue 1/2 in. from the edge of the blue fabric. Then i layed two 16 in. blue ribbon ties on the glue at the sides. Finally i layed the white felt on top and pressed the two pieces of felt together. Then for the invitation part i printed up the party information on cardstock and cut the cardstock into tags. Then i punched a hole at the top of the tags and tied the tags to one of the ribbon ties on the mask.DECORATIONS:I first began by clearing out the room that the party was held in so that there was a lot of space. On the ceiling i hung twinkling christmas lights and all over the room i had little tables with bowls of flowers and floating votive candles. In the center of the room i had a table set up where most of the spa treatments took place. At each place there was a basket of spa stuff for each girl to use during the party. The baskets consisted of a wash cloth, a hand towel, a headband, two colors of nail polish, a nail file, toe seperaters,a make up compact, a tube of lip gloss, a zip lock baggy filled with cucumbers, and a personel mirror. And at the far end of the room i had 8 chairs set up with foot baths.Activities: When the girls arrived we all began by having foot baths. in each tub we threw in a strawberry smelling fizzy bath bombs. The girls really enjoyed it, but my parents had to keep running back and forth to fill are tubs with hot water. After that we each painted our toe nails with funky colors of nail polish. Ounce we were done with painting our toe nails we went over to the table and began our facials.Ahead of time me and my mom made an avacado and yogurt mask that makes your face feel refreshed when your done. For each girls mask we mashed a quarter of an avacado in a bowl, then stirred in one tablespoon of plain yogurt.we then spreaded the mask all
