How can I prepare my kids for baby number five?
I am 4 weeks pregnant with baby number five. Only my husband and I know about it at the moment.
I have 7 year old twin girls, 4 year old son and 4 month old daughter.
This baby is coming much earlier than expected! There will only be a year difference between my youngest. I am a little apprehensive. How can I prepare my kids and my family for baby number five?
Ask them if they’d like another little brother or sister. If they say no ask why not? Actually listen (7yo’s have working brains too) and tell them the positives. I have 2 younger sibling and wish I were an only child but my mom who is one insists it’s bad. Perhaps you could include them in ultrasounds and shopping and let them pick some stuff. Actually buy it so they can see the baby wearing the shirt ‘They’ picked out. If you have sensible 7 yo’s you could Consider, letting them pick out a middle name. I know a lady who let her daughter pick out the middle name and she didn’t pick something silly she picked Sarah. So the baby was called Emily Sarah. Not just Emily! You have to say the full thing.!! Remember that.
Basically make it Our baby not just yours. Little girls are generally facsinated with the live doll that crys and moves.
