Gate Baby

How to attach a Baby gate question?
I need to put a baby gate at the bottom of the steps for my now one year old girl who just figured out she can climb them. My problem is there isn’t a wall on both sides of the steps to attach a gate to. There is the wall on one side and the railing on the other. An iron railing to boot, not wood that I can screw something into. Does anyone have an idea of how to make a gate work in that situation ?
Get a block of wood the length of the gate side. Use those plastic zip ties to secure the block of wood to the railing (super tight, of course) and make sure the wood edges are sanded, then use the gate as you intend.

Bringing It All Back Home (Reis) $4.05 “You sound like you’re having a good old time,” a purist Dylan fan is spotted telling the artist in the documentary Don’t Look Back just after the release of this, his first (half-)electric album. He certainly does. Updating Chicago blues forms with hilarious, tough lyrics–in fact, all but stealing the meter of Chuck Berry’s “Too Much Monkey Business” for “Subterranean Homesick Blues”–on one sid… |

Anthology of Bread $5.19 Those who had more than their fill of the likes of England Dan & John Ford Coley in the ’70s had Bread to thank for the proliferation of such acts. Bread, led by David Gates, took all of the softer aspects of the post-’60s folk metamorphosis and none of the artistry. Songs like “Make It with You” and “Baby I’m A-Want You” were enormous hits, but nothing compared to the success of “If.” Surveys wou… |

Ran (StudioCanal Collection) [Blu-ray] $20.32 As critic Roger Ebert observed in his original review of Ran, this epic tragedy might have been attempted by a younger director, but only the Japanese master Akira Kurosawa, who made the film at age 75, could bring the requisite experience and maturity to this stunning interpretation of Shakespeare’s King Lear. It’s a film for the ages–one of the few genuine screen masterpieces–and arguably serv… |
