EVENFLO discovery 5 car seat: how to adjust straps?

Im trying to adjust the straps on my car seats because my babies have outgrown the first setting. I have detached the black strap tightener from the back and gotten the strap out of the first hole in it. Thats as far as Ive gotten. The folded part of the strap keeps getting stuck inside the tightener when I try to pull it out of the second hole.
How do I remove the strap from the tightener so that I can adjust the height??

First – you want the straps to be at or BELOW the child’s shoulders… so just make sure that you are not trying to adjust too far.

OK – so the discovery is a big different from most seats.

Don’t touch the part where you tighten the seat.

You want to flip the seat over, and find the other end of the harness straps – the part that is by the child’s thighs. You will find an “O” type ring keeping that end in place. You feed this piece through the hole up through the front of the seat where the child’s bottom is. Then you feed the entire harness (including chest clip and crotch clip) through the back of the seat.

Then you take that piece and feed it through the correct harness hole for your child (at their shoulder or BELOW their shoulders… NEVER ABOVE their shoulders).

Then you feed the thigh piece through the seat to the back side of the seat.

Just buckle the chest and crotch buckle while you’re doing this so you can keep it all untwisted.

Hope that makes sense! the evenflo discover is a bit different.
