How much should I charge for a 5 page web site?
Hello there, I just got a proposal to build a web site. We have not talked about pricing yet. I want to have a good idea about this because now I don´t have any. I create Web pages for friends; however, I don´t charge because it is just matter of giving and receiving. Now it is different. This case is a person who I know and wants it for his own business (make money). It is a 5 web page site + designs videos and photos.
I’d appreciate anyone there helping me.
If you’re just starting doing it commercially, I wouldn’t charge more than $50/hour, and probably less.
What I *would* do is search the web for advice on contracts. (Read http://www.codeproject.com/News.aspx?ntag=35355247361493857 for instance.) If you don’t have a solid contract for the work, the client can end up owning you for life. (“You didn’t say I’d have to pay more to xxx.”) The only “client” I don’t have a contract with is my brother. Everyone else, paying or free, understands what he’s getting, what he’s not getting, and he signs for it.
