Crib Ensemble

What are the negatives for using a pack-and-play as an infant’s primary bed?
We don’t really have the $$ or room for a whole crib ensemble… I like the pack and plays because they look comfy, sturdy, and they’re a bit more compact than a normal crib.
However, there must be some reason that not everyone buys them for use as a baby’s primary bed… so if you can give me any reasons why/why not.. that would be awesome.
Oh, and we have been looking at thrift stores for a used crib as well.. nothing yet! ![]()
I’m not due to Nov, so there’s plenty of time to decide..
And we tend to travel and go camping a lot, so we’ll be needing one eventually anyway..
If we get a P&P, I was looking at the “rainforest” one at walmart, which has a bassinet and chinging table attached.. which will definitely save space in the beginniing.
here’s a link to the one I wanted.

Pak & plays are great for ashort time, then you can use the bottom portion, but that is pretty uncomfy for the lil tike.
And I know cribs are pretty darn costly. I lucked out, my mom bought our crip , cus we didnt have the money as well.
But before she did that , I was looking on CRAIGSLIST and there were alot of cribs really cheap and looked somewhat decent. Some of them people were giving away free. If you look into that, make sure they have a pic(or maybe e-mail a pic) and they are legit. Ask them how long they have had it, how many kids prior slept in it. (you know wear & tear ) And most of the time they will let you talk them down in price.
Good Luck & Congrats!!!
