Cosco Scenera
Baby car seat question for Canada.?

Im having problems with my daughter fitting properly we had her in the rear facing infant carrier/seat that has the base that stays in the car but then her feet were almost touching the back of the seat wich i think i was told that wasent good because there legs could break in an accident, and also the straps were loosend to max and it was hard to get her arms through because they were tight so we changed car seats to the cosco scenera and put it in rear facing and proped it up with a towel and her feet are touching the back seat like she can dig her feet in the seat if she stretched out also i find the straps to be hard to pull on this seat but i dont have the money to buy another seat. I know she cant be frontfacing untill she is a year old, she is 27 1/2 inches long and 19 lbs 7 months old. Just wondering what you would do or suggestions?

I had one of my twins facing forward before 1 year was up as he was so tall his head was over the back of the infant seat…and the next car seat up was just not functional rear-facing – we couldn’t get it tight etc.
My 3 girls though were all rear-facing past a year and sometimes their legs would have been too long like yours. Babies legs are likely to be braced for an accident IMHO, so not very likely to break. I believe the studies now say the can benefit from being rear-facing for much longer than a year.

There are also great new car seats out there that are much easier to use. Keep your eyes open for a reliable used one – perhaps from a family member or someone you know. My brother in law has one that has wheel that tightens the straps up – its amazing compared to what we went through when our 2 oldest were in car seats.

Check out this site. They have a number where you can call for advice too.
