Rear facing car seat?
My daughter is 8 months old and 22 pounds. She has outgrown her infant car seat and I have a cosco scenera convertible car seat rear facing in the middle of the back seat of my 95 ford escort wagon. IT DOESN’T FIT properly at all! I put towels under the front of the base as they recommend, and yes, that makes it level, but the front seats have to be pushed ALL THE WAY UP. Which is fine if I am driving because I am only 5 feet tall, but my husband who is 5’11″ can’t even get into the car!
I’ve searched and found that the Combi Coccoro is best for compact cars (compact? I drive a station wagon for pete’s sake!! but yea, I guess it’s compact since car seats don’t fit in it). However, the weight limit is only 33 pounds! I’m not paying $170.00 for a car seat that only goes up to 33 pounds, that’s crazy!
Has anyone found another seat that fits well in a “compact” car, rear facing?
thats like asking if you can fit 4 people in a 2 seater convertible. Why? If you are concerned about safety then don’t drive a compact car and especially one to ride 2 adults and an overweight child. You’d be better off just strappin the kid in the seat belts provided by ford for a regular passenger.
