Cart Handle

Why did this man have to cry for my cart?
I was at a supermarket and I saw this man carrying a huge load of toilet paper, 3 of them, into his cart, he eventually needed another cart and so he comes to me and he says if he can borrow my cart, I had to say no because of my nephew’s birthday cake was still in there. He wouldn’t take no for an answer, he tried to talk me out, bribe me, beg me, I kept telling him I would but I’m going to be late for the party. Right in front of my eyes, I saw this bearded man cry and I felt so trapped, he attracted shoppers and I eventually gave him my cart and had to carry a cake and party poppers. Should I have kept my cart? Why did he have to cry? (P.S. how did he manage to handle 2 carts?)
Why did he have so much toilet paper?
I would have kept the cart a little while longer just to see what else would happen.
