Fear of needles, need help!!!?
I can’t go to summer camp as a PA (Program Aid) unless I get a checkup at the doctor’s office.
HOWEVER, while I was there the other day, she informed me that at my age I still need a booster shot.
But I have a HUGE fear of needles. Most times, ask any of my friends, I’m tough and don’t cry easily, but needles can reduce me to tears. What do I do?!?! Is there some alternative?

Well there probably isn’t an alternative but most needles for routine booster shots are pretty small and all you feel is a tiny sting which lasts about 3 seconds.
Don’t worry it is o.k to cry. I am usually fine with needles as long as I don’t see it and the nurse at my docotor’s clininc knows that so she keeps it out of my sight, but with my flu shot this year the docotor did it and he didn’t know about my small problem and when he was preparing the 3inch long device it was right in my line of sight until he saw my tear filled eyes and he said “You’re not scared of a little needle are you?” and in reply I said “No, but I can’t look it.” and then he quickly did the deed and gave me a hug and said “You where very brave.”
I may be 20 and be a phlebotomist (some one who draws blood from people) but even I don’t like needles when they are pointe at me and I understand your fear.
Just breathe and don’t look you will be fine.
