Baby pool, kid in underwear?
There is this little boy who always swims in underwear at the baby pool. Then his underwear fell off because of it being soaked with water it falls off. The mother didn’t notice for a few minutes. It was really cute. But why would a parent have their child swimming in a pool with underwear NOT swim trunks? Is this mother too POOR to afford swim trunks for her little boy?
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME HE’S BEEN SWIMMING IN UNDERWEAR.
It’s just STRANGE, but doing no harm to anyone. It’s cute but STRANGE!
I am a parent, and cannot understand why others are jumping down your throat on this question.
You seem to be concerned and intrigued rather than judgmental. It would be one thing if you wrote “Damn mother lets her poor kid swim in undies,so distasteful… blah, blah…”
But you didn’t.
So, here’s my answer for what it’s worth:
Mothers parent different ways. There is no ‘one formula’ for parenting. And as long as you don’t see the child harmed in any way, than you should not be concerned.
Having no swim trunks does not indicate the mother is poor. It is acceptable in our society for toddlers to be in underwear, diapers, and very little clothing when they are in the heat, water, etc…
Babies, toddlers, often like to go ‘au natural’. Also toddlers sometimes can be VERY STUBBORN about wearing clothing. So maybe it was a compromise from the Mom to have him at least ‘wear his underwear’ in the pool. Maybe not….
Either way, I thought your observation of the child was cute, and your concern for their finances thoughtful.
PS If it is a public pool, most likely the pool personell will tell the Mom that the child has to wear a swimming diaper, or trunks due to ‘health code’/standards’. I hope they don’t though.
