Baby Lamb

Do you ever get kind of sad when they have to kill the baby lamb after a week and everyone has to eat it?
I know when I was little I would get tears in my eyes because we played with the baby lamb (well they are actually a year old but I like calling it a baby lamb) for a week and then dad or grandpa would have to kill it and feed it to the family and the neighbor’s. Dad said we could share the lamb because our family wasn’t big enough to eat a whole one. I know the little ones today get sad and i had to hold one last year in my arms and take her inside. She was so precious…I guess it is that time of year again now and I just wanted to know what everyones thoughts was on this. I know it is commanded and there is a lot of symbolism now that I am adult, but I still can’t help but shed a tear sometimes. We can definately look back to our ancestors coming out of Egypt and thank God for his mercy and sparing the lives of the firstborn males, you know? It’s not all bad
